You may remember our summer teaser regarding a very exciting photo shoot that took place in Exeter, featuring over 600 stunning wedding gowns and 9 beautiful models. Still keen to find out more? Well the wait is over! We are excited to announce the launch of WeddingAuction.org.uk, a fantastic new auction site dedicated to wedding gowns, bridal party outfits, and accessories – in fact, just about any wedding-related item that you can think of!
Each item has been lovingly photographed and catalogued, allowing you to browse and bid with confidence. The site will also aim to suggest other items that you may wish to purchase; if you find your dream dress, we may just have the veil, tiara and shoes to match!
How does it work?
WeddingAuction.org.uk has been designed to be as simple to use as possible, operating in much the same way as other popular auction sites.
First, browse for the item you want – there will soon be a wide range of content added, so be sure to have a cup of tea to hand! When you have found an item you wish to bid on, simply proceed to the Account Set-Up page and either log in or register; it’s really that easy! Email notifications will be used to keep you up-to-date on your bidding progress, including instances when you have been outbid or won your chosen item.
Our auction site is different – Every penny that is raised during the sale of items on the auction site will be donated directly to The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation, ensuring that couples affected by terminal or life-limiting illnesses are able to marry before it’s too late.
Donating your wedding items
If you have a gown, bridesmaids’ dresses, pair of shoes, or a collection of wedding accessories that you would like to donate for our auction site, please contact your nearest branch of Johnsons the Cleaners; they will be happy to pass anything on to us.

A word from our suppliers…
We would like to thank Tasha Newland of Ikonworks Photography, Pumpkin and Pye, Photography Floor and Backdrops, Tracy Pallari Hair and Makeup, and Heather Manning of Beautiful Daze Hair and Makeup for their hard work during the photo shoot, as well as Johnsons for their continued support. The photo shoot just wouldn’t have been possible without you, or the nine stunning volunteers who came forward to have their photos taken – thank you!
Tasha says, ”When Naomi asked if I would like to be involved in the initial stages of making this project happen, I was so excited and honoured that words were simply not enough. I am immensely proud of my friend Naomi, and this was absolutely something I wanted to be involved in – both now at this early stage, and repeatedly in the future. Naomi is, after all, creating a legacy in The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation, and projects such as this are the sort of thing I live for! I can’t wait to find out what people think of the auction site, and would love for it to become a national phenomenon. Please cherish and encourage it, honour our aspirations for it, and help us to fulfill people’s dreams now and always.”
Tracy says, ”I’ve been a supported of The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation for several years but haven’t felt able to actively help them until now, as I’m not a runner, walker, cyclist, or climber. Naomi was looking for hair and makeup artists for this shoot and I cancelled a booking to go to Exeter for the day, as I knew this was a way I could use my skills and passion to help. I spent the day creating several different looks for the girls who were modelling the dresses and headpieces for the website, and I enjoyed every moment; working with Naomi, Tasha and the models was great fun! During a quick break it suddenly occurred to me that I was incredibly lucky to be able to play a part in the launch of this project; if I could help the models to feel fabulous and look stunning in the dresses, then they would really enjoy being photographed. If that helps to sell dresses and raise money for this amazing charity, then I am really happy that I’ve been able to help in my own way.”
Heather says, “This was such a great shoot to work on. It was a lovely feeling to be doing something like that for a charity such as the Wedding Wishing Well Foundation, because it benefits so many people. I got in touch with Naomi back in October, asking if she needed any help with photo shoots for the charity. When she contacted me and asked me to be involved with this one I jumped at the chance! Not only will my work hopefully benefit the charity, it was a great experience for me to be able to work on such a busy shoot – I loved it!”
Natasha of Pumpkin and Pye says, “My little sister, Becky, died from terminal cancer at the age of 10, when I was 12 years old. I can still remember all of the little things that people did for her, and for our family; these things really made a difference, especially for Becky, and allowed her to be able to do and see things that she otherwise wouldn’t have. I’ve always supported charities and, now that I have my own business, wanted to see if there was any way that I could help with those little things. That’s when my husband told me about Naomi and The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation. I contacted her to offer wedding flowers or alternative bouquets for weddings or events, and Naomi asked if I would be able to provide the flowers for this photo shoot, as well as a bouquet for her wedding vow renewal. It was a privilege to be able to help her, and a pleasure to be able to give something back. I hope that my bouquets can help towards creating happy memories for people.”
WeddingAuction.org.uk will be launching at 8am on Friday, 9th January 2015.
