TWWWF Advent Calendar: Day Four

For day four of The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation’s advent we thought we’d show you why we work so tirelessly to help couples affected by terminal and life limiting illnesses; these are photos of the wedding days that we have helped to organise – their happiness and utter devotion to each other is the very reason that we do what we do.

Marriage, and the very idea of a wedding day, is something that so many of us take for granted; when you love each other as much as you do, getting married seems so easy. However, there are so many couples out there who face an uncertain road – for them, the very idea of marriage seems so very far away. It is our belief that everybody has the right to marry their soulmate, and to experience the utter happiness of the marriage that follows – regardless of the time they will be able to spend together. For our couples, their wedding day may be the first time that their family and friends have seen them smiling in a while and, in a sad number of cases, it may be the last time they witness such joyous faces. A special wedding day provides everybody with so many happy memories to treasure forever – and you can’t put a price on that.

Introducing The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation’s brides and grooms; each and every one of them has a special place in our hearts.

It is a sad certainty in this line of work that we will eventually lose some of those to whom we have grown close; we take great comfort from being involved so wholeheartedly with one of the most special days in their lives, and to be able to make such a difference to some truly strong and amazing couples.

It is a sad fact that we are forced to reject 80% of applications that are made to us. We simply don’t have the resources to be able to help everyone, and we would desperately love this to change. Please consider donating to The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation, or becoming involved with fundraising; you may wonder how you can help, but please trust us when we say that even the smallest amount really does make all the difference.
